Looking for a simple and tasty meal? This baked salmon with a buttery lemon garlic sauce is delicious. It makes a very quick meal anytime, done in just 20 minutes.
2tablespoonsfresh lemon juice(about 1/2 of a lemon)
4-5clovesminced garlic
1/2teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 1/2teaspoonsalt or salt to taste(rule of thumb is 3/4-1 teaspoon of salt per pound of salmon)
1/4teaspoonblack pepper
fresh parsley or dried dill for garnishoptional
1-2thinly sliced lemons
Instructions
Let the salmon come to room temperature. Pat dry with paper towels.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
In a small bowl whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, brown sugar and seasonings. Set aside
Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the lemon slices in a single layer on top of the foil. Place the salmon, skin side down, on top of the lemon slices.
Drizzle the butter sauce over the salmon, use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly over the entire filet.
Place on the center rack of the oven and bake for 8-12 minutes, or until meat thermometer reaches 140-145 degrees.
If desired, garnish with chopped parsley or dried dill.
