This old fashioned apple crisp recipe has been enjoyed in my family for years. It’s perfect with a scoop of ice cream or a spoonful of whipped cream. Just wait for the smell of baked apples to waft through the house!
Place sliced apples in shallow pan or baking dish (8x10”), sprinkle with water, cinnamon, and salt. Mix gently to incorporate throughout the apples.
In a separate bowl, work the flour, sugar and butter until crumbly. Leave lumpy, do not over mix.
Sprinkle the flour mixture evenly over apples,, making sure to cover the entire surface and corners.
Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until top is turning a golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool a bit. It’s best served while warm or reheat slightly before serving. It can also be eaten at room temperature.
