This Chicken Parmesan recipe is a restaurant quality recipe that can be easily made at home. This classic Italian meal is a favorite for family, friends, and company.
Ingredients:
Chicken breast – Pound boneless chicken breast to an even thickness (1/3” – 1/2″ thick). Pounding the cutlets beforehand helps the chicken to cook evenly, and more importantly, makes them fork tender.
You will also need: Flour, eggs, seasoned bread crumbs, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. Try our recipe for, Easy Marinara Sauce, or use your favorite spaghetti sauce.
Make ahead: You can make the Chicken Parmesan early in the day and refrigerate. If preparing the day before, make the sauce and fry the cutlets, cool and refrigerate. Preheat the oven and then finish assembling with the sauce and cheese.
Freezer friendly: I like making a double batch and freezing one in a foil-freezer pan. Defrost, bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes (or until the chicken reaches 165˚degrees F).
Serve with thin spaghetti, extra sauce, crusty bread, and a simple green salad.
