Homemade Caesar salad dressing, is simple the best! Authentic flavors of anchovies, garlic, lemon, mustard, and Parmesan are what make this dressing so good..Serve over the top of romaine lettuce, add croutons and grated cheese on top. It makes a delicious meal lunch, or add in some chicken breast for a heartier salad.

This salad dressing recipe is adapted from Karen Weir on Allrecipes, it is super quick to prepare. The benefit of using mayonnaise (verses raw egg), the dressing will stay fresher for longer. Plus mayonnaise is very safe to use, whereas raw eggs can sometimes be contaminated with salmonella.

Chicken with Caesar Salad Dressing:

If you want additional protein, include cooked chicken breast. Add slices or chunks of chicken, along with croutons and some freshly grated Parmesan or Swiss cheese on top.

Add a delicious twist to your salads with this homemade Caesar salad dressing. Made with anchovies, garlic, lemon, mustard, and Parmesan for authentic flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy, minced or paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper, or to taste
  • croutons
  • 1 head roman lettuce, torn

Instructions
 

  • Add all the ingredients together in a bowl and mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use. (keeps 1 week)
  • Place the lettuce in individual bowls, add the dressing, (chicken breast, if using). Top with additional grated Parmesan cheese, and seasoned croutons. Serve

Notes

NOTE:  Makes 2 dinner salads if using chicken.  Or 4 side salads.
