This goulash recipe is truly a classic American comfort food! A hearty pasta dish made with ground beef and a rich tomato-based sauce. It all comes together in about 30 minutes. My family loves it!

For an extra creamy texture, stir in some grated cheddar cheese at the end. Serve the goulash with freshly grated parmesan cheese on top. For added spice, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce. My husband likes to add few drops of tabasco sauce to his serving.

Variations to this classic comfort food:

  • We like to use elbow macaroni in goulash, but you can use any other small pasta that you have on hand.

  • You can substitute ground turkey or tofu in place of ground beef.

  • Goulash can be made ahead of time and be easily reheated in the oven.

  • Add in diced green bell pepper for color.

I hope you enjoy this classic as much as we do…
